TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Annapolis. Y’all liked the new format. Our writers like the new format. And least importantly, I like the new format. So we’re keeping it. Welcome to Naptown Scoop 2.0.

In today’s Naptown Scoop:

  • St. Patrick’s Day events

  • Another new bakery

  • a pug named Louis

Let’s get to it.

BUSINESS

Same addresses, new look

Carrol’s Creek Cafe

Restaurant glow-ups are happening all over town. Carrol's Creek Cafe and Bella Italia’s Arnold location are back open after fresh upgrades. And the Carrol’s makeover is hotter than its famous crabcakes.

  • Carrol’s took a nice but we’ll be honest, a little dated, dining room and turned it into a gorgeous coastal classic. You’ll barely recognize it and you won’t be sad about it.

  • Bella Italia took a warm, old-school dining room and turned it into a bright, airy, New York-style pizza shop.

Don’t worry, though. Both are still serving the same food you know and love. Especially that herb-encrusted rockfish at Carrol’s Creek šŸ˜‹

Meanwhile, Lures Bar and Grille is also closed for renovations this week. They didn’t respond in time to let us know what they’re doing, but we trust their judgement in the kitchen so we’ll trust it here, too. They reopen Friday the 13th. Spooky. . .

How Do You End a Hot Season? Like This

Fresh off sold-out crowds for Olga Kern, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra ends their 64th season in Annapolis with a concert full of energy, color, and big moments. Grammy-winning composer Gabriela Ortiz’ Antrópolis highlights the percussion section, while Pascal RogĆ© brings jaw-dropping skill to Ravel’s Piano Concerto. Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 closes the night with sheer intensity. It’s a powerful piece that anyone who loves music should experience.Ā

Show up early for a free pre-concert lecture with WBJC’s Jonathan Palevsky at 6:30 PM.

šŸŽŸļø Don’t miss this finale — Friday, April 10 or Saturday, April 11 at Maryland Hall. Reserve your seats. Tickets start at just $25.
