TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Annapolis. Sometimes I wonder what it’d be like to live in a place where you wake up one day and it’s spring and there’s no fear of going right back to winter two days later.

In today’s Naptown Scoop:

  • County Council meeting

  • Navy gets NIT invite

  • St. Patrick’s events

Let’s get to it.

Saving vs. Investing: Which is More Important?

Putting your money to work is one of the core pillars of wealth-building. This common
but powerful mantra is the driving force behind strategically using your money to build a
better financial future. But, as the world of financial services has grown in capability and
complexity, the language of money has also changed.

Terms like saving, investing, and even trading in some cases are used interchangeably
even though they have very different meanings. To make matters worse, confusing
these terms can have dangerous financial consequences.

To that end, the team at Scarborough Capital Management offers this refresher on some of the key differences between saving and investing. If you have a
question that’s not addressed here, contact us! We’re here to help.

COMMUNITY

Annapolis’ best-kept secret for women šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’¼

Kyla Kellogg

Lauren here. This one’s for the ladies. I can’t stop thinking (or talking) about my first encounter with Fount & Flourish, a social community/coworking lounge for women and the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Emerging Business of the Year.

- At their sold-out 3-year anniversary party and fundraiser, I was amazed to learn the Annapolis-based org had already raised $15,600 for the newly-launched Fount Fund. The fund supports nonprofits championing women and girls, encourages community engagement through fundraising and volunteerism, and provides grants for emerging needs and priorities in Anne Arundel County.

But what impressed me most was the vibe. The connection among the 100 attendees felt genuine — the opposite of the dreaded ā€œnetworkingā€ scene.

With about 150 members, Fount & Flourish also offers multiple membership tiers and perks like wellness classes, leadership workshops, and coworking space.

- Even better: my new friends are offering Scoop readers a free coworking day. Think coffee, tea, Wi-Fi, and open lounge seating at their downtown Annapolis spot. Sign up for a day March 23–27 at their space at 100 Cathedral Street, Ste. 7. Trust me — it’s the water cooler of your dreams.

FOOD & DRINK

Positano is open for business in West Annapolis

Positano

Just about 7 months after it was announced, Positano Ristorante - Pizzeria is now open in West Annapolis.

  • The Italian restaurant takes the place of Agave at 106 Annapolis Street, a popular restaurant from the Delaware beaches that was only open for two years before closing last February.

There’s something for everyone on the menu with 11 pizzas, a bevy of starters, half a dozen salads, and 16 main dishes that sound straight out of an Italian grandma’s kitchen. See the full menu. And yes, there’s a kid’s menu.

Between Positano, Chessie’s Wharf, and InGrano, West Annapolis is becoming Annapolis’ hottest culinary destination. And the best part? Free parking.

Ever wondered we run the same story on Thursday and Friday? Because not everyone reads both days and even if they do, it’s always helpful to see things again.

Also, we added something, but you have to find it yourself. Hint: 🐰

šŸŽˆĀ As always, family-friendly events are marked with a balloon emoji.

Friday

Saturday

šŸŗĀ Green Beer Races - Dublin 5 on the stage, beer (or Kool-aid) balance races for kids and adults, face painting, and more.

🄚 Adult Easter Egg Hunt - Candy was fun in eggs when we were young. You know what’s better? Hotel stays, dinners at local restaurants, wine baskets, and shopping sprees.

Sunday

šŸŽˆĀ šŸ€Ā Patriot League Women’s Championship - If Navy wins tonight. Tickets are $20.

šŸŽˆĀ šŸšœĀ Anne Arundel County Farmers Market - Local farms, local booze, local soaps, local bakers, and more.

šŸŽˆĀ šŸÆĀ Honey’s Harvest Farm Third Sunday Market - Local artists, artisans, bakers, and more. In our opinion, there can never be too many farmers markets.
