Good morning, Annapolis. How would you describe the sound of the Blue Angels? A rip? A roar? Some just call it the sound of freedom. Whatever you call it, it gets us every time.

TTR SOTHEBYβS INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE
Luxe living in the heart of Annapolis
Location, location, location. You may tire of hearing that, but clichΓ©s are only clichΓ©s because theyβre true. Letβs visit one of Annapolisβ most coveted neighborhoods.
This Wardour estate is a remarkable opportunity β a stunning home on a very private acre. If you need me, Iβll be out back. I might play with the dog in the lush, green lawn. Or dip into the resort-quality pool & hot tub.
Inside, one word comes to mind βΒ spacious. You will never feel cramped. Thatβs evident in the 2-story marble entry, in the kitchen gathered around the massive curved island, and especially in the primary suite fit for royalty.
Just 2 homes have sold on this street in the past 2 years. And itβs easy to see why. Charming locally-owned shops and restaurants are within walking distance. And both downtown Annapolis and Route 50 are less than 5 minutes away.

THE DIGEST
Pat Sajakβs last Wheel of Fortune episode to air June 7 πΊ
Itβs (nearly) the end of a game show era. Pat Sajakβs 43-year run as the host of βWheel of Fortuneβ ends June 7. He taped his last episode over a month ago, which will air as part of a weeklong series of shows called βThanks for the Memories.β Speaking of memories, he teamed-up with letter-turning model Vanna White in 1982. White will stay on when Ryan Seacrest takes over. Sajakβs 28-year-old daughter and Severn School alumna Maggie Sajak will fill in for White on occasion.
Sajak became a Severna Park resident after purchasing his Bluff Point home in 1991. In 1998, Sajak bought WNAV-1430 AM, one of the last radio stations in Annapolis. A few years ago, he sold it to a group of local broadcasters for $1,000. He and his wife, Lesly, also donated $1 million to Luminis Health Anne Arundel County Medical Center.Β The hospitalβs Sajak Pavilion houses a breast care center and other outpatient care services. SPONSORED BY THE ANNAPOLIS BLUES
Got plans June 1? Allow us to make a suggestion. . .
There's nothing in Annapolis quite like a Blues game. They took Annapolis by storm last year β winning a thrilling Conference Championship and setting multiple National Premier Soccer League attendance records. Which brings us to today's message.
The Blues home opener is June 1 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Anyone who went to a game last year (even the rainy one) will tell you these games are an absolute blast.
We even tailgate! The official Blues tailgate is inspired by the legendary tailgates before Jimmy Buffett shows.
So put the Annapolis Blues on your calendar for June 1. Tickets start at just $8.

WHATβS HAPPENINβ
Annapolis Hope cruise β΅οΈ
The Annapolis Maritime Museum has stepped up big time with our Annapolis Hope fundraiser by letting us borrow their iconic skipjack, Wilma Lee, on the 1-year anniversary of the tragic triple murder that led to Annapolis Hope. The crew is donating their time during the cruise on June 11 from 6β8:30 PM for this commemorative fundraiser event. Roxana Rodriguez from Caliente Grill is donating fine food and drinks. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in one beautiful sunset cruise. The ultimate goal is to save the late Nick Mirelesβ wife and 8 kids from eviction. Visit our Eventbrite page to save your seat.
Thanks also to the organizations (like SpinSheet π€) that have made generous grants completely unsolicited. These local businesses have also or will soon donate a portion of sales: Always Ice Cream Company, Annapolis Candle, Wrabyn, and J. McLaughlin. π
Whatβs ahead for Commissioning Week? πβοΈ
Weβre about halfway through Commissioning Week, with plenty of exciting stuff left. Hereβs whatβs on the schedule today, tomorrow, and Friday:
Today is the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration, so youβve got only a few hours left to make watch plans if you havenβt yet. The show starts at 2 PM and will likely be about an hour. Remember, weβve got all the details about best places to watch, road closures, and parking options in our Commissioning Week Guide.
Tomorrow is the Color Parade, the Brigadeβs final formal dress parade of the year. It starts at 11 AM on Worden Field. The public is invited to watch the formal presentation of the color company pennant by the superintendent, the company commander, and the βcolor honoreeβ to the newly designated spring color company.
Finally, the big day itβs all building up to: Graduation! The ceremony is at 10 AM at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, but the gates open at 7 AM and the procession starts at 9 AM. If youβre attending, get there early. If youβre not attending, you may want to steer clear of driving near the stadium β traffic gets pretty tough! The ceremony is invite-only to attend, but you can stream it on YouTube.
Whoβs speaking at graduation this year? USNA graduation always draws a high-ranking government official to give the keynote speech. This year itβs Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III. He served 41 years in the Army, earning a Silver Star for his leadership of the Armyβs 3rd Infantry Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. He retired as a four-star Army general in 2016 and was sworn in as the 28th Secretary of Defense in 2021.
Summer Concerts at City Dock Return πΆ
Thereβs not much that beats a free concert overlooking the water in the summertime. Join the party at Susan Campbell Park at City Dock on Sundays and some Fridays from now until September. La Feria De Las Flores plays this Sunday (5/26) from 6:30β8:30 PM. See the lineup and schedule. Bonus: Select events have free tango or salsa lessons! π
